This past weekend was wonderful. We did not have a single thing planned (besides church). Friday night Carter and I picked up around the house and got a few things taken care of so I wouldn't have to worry about for the rest of the weekend. I let Carter go to be late in hopes that he would sleep in on Saturday morning. Do you think it worked?
Of course not! Carter was up bright and early at 6:25am - so much for sleeping in until 10:00am! He was roaring to go and wanted to play. All mommy wanted to do was sleep! We got up and fixed breakfast and then I lounged around and he ran around for a while.
Then we decided to go to the park. I was planning on a nice picnic lunch at the park, but Carter said he didn't want to eat at the park so I scratched that idea and we headed to the park. We played Basketball, Football, Cops and Robbers while we were there and I read a chapter of my book while he was going down the slides a million times. The weather was beautiful and I was amazed that we were the only ones at the park. It was nice to have it all to ourselves. It was getting close to lunch time so I gave him his 5 minute warning. Then he said he was ready for our picnic lunch. What? I guess he changed his mind while we were at the park. He settled for McDonald's to take home.
Then we ran to Target for some stackable drawers because I wanted to organize our upstairs office/scrapbooking/play/catch-all room. It was finally time for a nap, which I was in desperate need of. I had to wake up earlier on my free "sleep-in" day than I normally do for work! After nap it was time for Josh to get up and get ready to go to work again. After he went to work Carter and I attached the upstairs room. I got all of his Geo-Trax trains in the bins and found a new home for lots of stuff. We took a break for dinner and then went back up to finish. Once it was all organized I felt so great. Carter was having a good time playing and I pulled out some scrapping projects to finish up while he was playing.
Then it was getting close to bedtime so I got Carter all settled in and then popped in Army Wives - Season 2. I watched 2 episodes and they were really good. It has taken me so much longer to get through this season, but I am loving every minute of it!
Sunday was another relaxing day. We went to Sunday School, Church, and lunch with the family. Then we headed home for nap...One thing I love about the weekends is the afternoon nap. Josh stayed home from work because his back was hurting. We are not sure what he has done, but this was the 4th day it had been hurting and he thought he needed to take it easy a bit. Later on I went and rented Gran Torino. I had mixed feelings about this movie. I had heard that it was wonderful, but I had this idea of what the movie was about and wasn't sure if I really wanted to see it. I was totally wrong about it and it is a wonderful movie. If you haven't seen it you should. It is so good!
That pretty much sums up my weekend with nothing to do. It was wonderful. I need to make sure I have more of these...just looking at my schedule it will be mid August before I can have another on! I better pencil it in now!

Such a fun weekend! I know you needed it!
Sounds like a fun/busy weekend for "nothing to do."
What a fabulous weekend!!! I love getting things organized and I suffer through a long work week just so I can enjoy my weekend afternoon naps. LOL!!! Have a great week!!! XOXO
Fun weekend! I love weekends that you can play catch up on all of the little things that you never get done :)
And I agree--that movie? Awesome!! A great movie in my opinion..totally different than what I had thought it was going to be about.
