‘Tis the Season for Basketball

Tuesday evening we went to our first basketball game of the season at the local University.  We began our evening with some Mexican food.  I am in desperate need of finding a new Mexican restaurant to call my favorite.  The last few times we have ate at the one we went to it just hasn’t been very good and the service is beyond desirable.  I don’t know what has happened to them but it sure isn’t good.

November 17, 2009 001Not sure what Carter was up to in that picture --- just being silly I guess.  After dinner we headed over to the field house.  Since it was early in the season and in the middle of the week there were not many people there.  A little bit after we got seated a girl came up to us to ask if Carter could participate in one of the half time games that they do.  He would race another kid down the length of the court carrying several pizza boxes.  Both kids get a coupon for a free pizza.  I thought it would be great, but realistically we didn’t think that Carter would do it.  We explained it to him and he said he didn’t want to do it.  So that was that.  The team did not play very well during the first half.  It was more entertaining watching the mascot!

When the guys came back for the second half they were playing much better.  So much better that at one point they were even ahead.  In the end they weren’t able to pull it off.  I hope they start working as a team earlier in the game.

During the game Carter picked out a new favorite player.  He picked the tallest guy on the team.  He liked how he held his mouth or something.  He kept saying that it was so funny.

I need to wrap up a little something.  Remember when I found the perfect lamp for Carter’s Sports room here?  I don’t think I have ever shown you!  I got the lamp from CSN Baby.  I think it is a great addition to the room.  The room has each wall dedicated to Football, Basketball and Baseball.  I used Josh’s favorite teams the Bulls and the Cowboys, but I didn’t have anything for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Yeah, you MUST have a "go to" mexican restaurant. Life is not complete without that. Great pics. He's such a cutie!
